Michigan; A Rush of Seasons was my submission to the 2016 competition, which was put on by 6 local Honda Dealers and coincided with Artprize 8 in Grand Rapids.  I was one of 6 "given" a honda to use as a canvas.  The participants had a few days to paint their designs on their cars, in the open public area known as Rosa Parks Circle, downtown Grand Rapids.  A public vote chose the overall winner.  

I had a great time doing this event! I especially enjoyed the curious kids; they would watch me paint, some were brave and walked right up, some had their parents break the ice. Most, when asked, just wanted to help me! I would encourage them to grab a paint marker and make a mark. Occasionaly, I would draw a leaf or a flower and just let them color! No matter if it "looked good"...certainly not the point! The kids were thrilled and had participated in the making of public art...the folks got pictures of their kids. Fun was had all around!
